Name: YD Song (송영동)

Bio: Thanks for visiting! I enjoy working at the intersection of design and technology, where spatial intuition meets computation. I received my Bachelor of Architecture from Yonsei University and worked several years as a professional architect. To bridge this design foundation with computational rigor, I am pursuing my Master's in Computer Science at the University of Chicago.

Status: Currently, I am a research assistant at UChicago's 3D Deep Learning (3DL) lab led by professor Rana Hanocka, where I apply my architectural understanding of form and geometry to computational challenges. My research focuses on developing a back-projection pipeline that maps 2D annotations onto 3D meshes to route continuous, topologically aware geometric seams.
